與孟子不同,荀子主張“性惡”,認(rèn)為人性本惡。因而更強(qiáng)調(diào)人為的作用,通過(guò)后天的人為的努力才能達(dá)到“善”。沒(méi)有本性那么人為的努力就不能對(duì)癥下藥,沒(méi)有人為的努力,本性就不能改善。所以主張“性偽合”,天生的本性和后天的努力對(duì)人都有重要影響,而后天的努力更為重要,它是我們能夠自己掌控的,“學(xué)不可以已”的意義就更大。
過(guò)去從未死去,它甚至沒(méi)有過(guò)去。
