選自漢·桓寬《鹽鐵論·申韓》。曲木，彎曲的木頭。惡，厭惡、怕。繩，木匠用以裁曲取直的墨繩。奸邪，奸邪之人。正法，公正無私的法律。這句話以曲木畏直繩作類比，說明公正無私之法對奸邪之人的威懾作用。
