Happiness is the very nature of the self; happiness and the self are not different. There is no happiness in any object of the world. We imagine through our ignorance that we derive happiness from objects.
All the texts say that in order to gain release one should render the mind quiescent; therefore their conclusive teaching is that the mind should be rendered quiescent; once this has been understood there is no need for endless reading.
Remaining quiet is what is called wisdom-insight.
The thought 'I am the body' is ignorance.
That which is, is peace. All that we need do is to keep quiet.
If one has realised, he is that which alone is, and which alone has always been. He cannot describe that state. He can only be that.
Be still. Apart from this the mind has no task to do or thought to think.
When the mind that is subtle goes out through the brain and the sense-organs, the gross names and forms appear; when it stays in the heart, the names and forms disappear.
All are gurus to us, the wicked by their evil deeds say 'do not come near me'. The good are always good, therefore all are like gurus to us.
Action and knowledge are not obstacles to each other.
The purpose of all these illustrations is to direct the seeker's mind towards the one reality underlying them all.
To remain quiet is to resolve the mind in the self.
The world is so unhappy because it is ignorant of the true self. Man's real nature is happiness. Happiness is inborn in the true self. Man's search for happiness is an unconscious search for his true self.
讓來的來,讓去的去。找出剩下的是什么。
幸福是自我的本質(zhì);幸福和自我沒有不同。世界上的任何事物中都沒有幸福。我們由于無知而想象我們從物體中獲得幸福。
所有的經(jīng)典都說到,為了獲得解脫,人應(yīng)該讓心智安靜;所以它們的最終教導(dǎo)就是心智應(yīng)該被安靜下來;一旦理解了這一點(diǎn),就不需要沒完沒了地閱讀經(jīng)典了。
保持安靜就是所謂的智慧洞察。
我是身體”的想法是無知的。
存在的本質(zhì)即是平靜。我們所需要做的就是保持安靜。
